New York: Gnome Press, 1950. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition first printing 1950. Book is a solid square copy. The boards are clean and sharp, with mottling to the top 10mm of the upper and lower boards. Bumped and rubbed to spine ends. The text block edges have toning and light spotting, more pronounced to the top edge. Some light offset marking to the pastedowns. The pages are crisp and clean. Feels very firmly bound and gently read. Book in very good condition. The jacket has pretty extensive rubbing to edges, joint ends, and less so to corners. The spine has large loss to foot and is sunned. Jacket grades good. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A solid copy of this classic Simak title, an uncommon title in the UK from the Earnshaw collection.
Synopsis
Cosmic Engineers is a science fiction novel by author Clifford D. Simak. It was published in 1950 by Gnome Press in an edition of 6,000 copies, of which 1,000 were bound in paperback for an armed forces edition. The novel was originally serialized in the magazine Astounding in 1939.
