Hardcover. 12mo, 19cm, xii,339p., with 4 colour plates including frontis, original pictorial maroon cloth, gilt titles on spine and upper cover, neat original owner's inscription date xmass, 1909, hint of fading on the spine else a very good to fine copy (hmds). ~ A story of three boys shipwrecked on an island first published in 1858 and inspired by Defoe's Robinson Crusoe. The book is also thought to be the inspiration for Golding's "Lord of the Flies
