Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1898. Hardcover. 8vo. Blue cloth over bevelled boards with gilt lettering and pictorial stamping. xi, 123pp. Top edge gilt. Frontispiece, 15 full-page tissue-guarded plates. Very good. Faintest of edgewear; leaf 101-102 clipped at upper corner (no text loss); bookplate on front pastedown. Handsome later printing, tight and lovely, of the 1895 first U.S. edition of this 1868 study. The elaborate giltstamping is as bright as new.
