This volume shows nicely with mild to moderate signs of wear and age the front flyleaf and the next page show tears to the edges. Moderate foxing and Browning to the interior pages. The binding is sound and firm. The boards are clean. Included is a newspaper article featuring a poem written by Otway Curry "The Hereafter". Signed on the inside back of the frontispiece is the name Henry Brinkerhoff book was a U.S. Representative from Ohio, cousin of Jacob Brinkerhoff. Born in Adams County, Pennsylvania, Brinkerhoff moved with his parents to Cayuga County, New York, in 1793. He attended the country schools. Commanded a company of militia in the War of 1812, distinguishing himself in the Battle of Queenstown Heights. He engaged in agricultural pursuits. He served as member of the State assembly in 1828 and 1829. Brinkerhoff was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-eighth Congress and served from March 4, 1843, until his death (per Wikipedia) at the lower portion of the same page is a statement that says "this is an EY LDR family book from the Brinkerhoff's.
