Cover has a whisper of wear to corners. Rear upper corner is creased. Binding tight and square. Former owner brief inscription on first page. Pages 277-284 have a tiny chip to the upper edge, otherwise clean, no markings, no underlining or highlighting. An insightful portrait of Christopher Columbus, of the man, the time and place in which he lived, his explorations and discoveries. This portrayal of Columbus shows him to be a lonely man who never knew or understood his fellow Europeans or the Indians he encountered in the lands he 'discovered'. 453 pages indexed. 6 x 9 inches. 1991, Plume/Penguin Group, USA
