London: Otto Limited, 1903-1906. Leather. Good Only. 11" by 9". Various. A uniformly bound collection of The Connoisseur, being a fine art publication and famous collectors' magazine lavishly illustrated with full page plates. Holding an assortment of articles and news on antiques and collectibles including those in art, coins, stamps, literature, silver, engravings, gems, musical instruments, pottery, as well as articles on the works of influential people in the collecting world, such as Thomas Chippendale. Set of six being; volume II to IV complete for the year 1902, volume VIII January-April, 1904, volume XI January-April, 1905, and volume XVI September-December, 1906. Featuring twenty-two coloured plates to volume two, eleven of which are delicately tipped in with their original tissue guards. Seventeen coloured plates to volume three, two that are neatly tipped in, and one that is folding. Twenty-four coloured plates to volume four, one of which that is tipped in, and one that is folding. Seventeen coloured plates to volume eight, three of which are tipped in, and four of which have their original captioned tissue guards. Twelve coloured plates to volume eleven, two of which are neatly tipped in. Lastly fourteen coloured plates to volume sixteen, one of which that is delicately tipped in. The magazine was intended as an illustrated guide for antique lovers and collectors, and was published nine times a year. Uniformly rebound in roan bindings with gilt design and lettering to the spines. Externally, each volume is rubbed, with wear to the spines and extremities. Backstrip is lifting to the head of volumes three and four. Some minor damp staining to the front board and slight straining to the front hinge of volume eight. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound and extremely bright. Generally clean, with only some light spotting to the endpapers and the very occasional handling mark. Good Only

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
