London : Otto Limited, 1903-1904. Cloth. Very Good. 11" by 9". None. A collection of issues of the British antiquarian magazine The Connoisseur. Comprised of volumes VI, VII, VIII and IX, published between 1903 and 1904. The magazine was intended as an illustrated guide for antique lovers and collectors, and was published nine times a year. Illustrated throughout with many beautiful illustrations in the text, tipped-in plates and thirty-nine full-page coloured plates. Containing information on collection etchings, bells, silver, wood carvings, stamps and many more as well as articles on the works of influential people in the collecting world, such as Thomas Chippendale. In brown cloth bindings. Externally, generally smart, though with some marks and light rubbing in places. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are mainly bright and clean, though with some spotting to the plates. Two of the tipped-in plates to volume VII have become detached, but are present. Volume VIII is missing one tipped-in plate. Very Good
