Huy: Charpentier & Emond, 1894. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavo. 264 pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in 3/4 grey cloth with marbled paper covered boards. The binding is rubbed and bumped and shows some spotting and soiling from handling. The spine is sunned. Prior owner's bookplate on the front pastedown, which has a small piece of blue paper stuck near the gutter. Endpapers and text are quite toned. The bottom 2 1/2 inches of the gutter at the title page is torn. Pencilled notation on reverse of title page. Page 159 has a dark stain at the top of the gutter. Text is not affected. Contains several small text illustrations from photos as well as a large folding map of the Congo in color. Text is in French.
