A parody of Goethe's autobiography Poetry and Truth, this novel was left unfinished at the time of Mann's death in 1955. Octavo. Original green cloth binding, with gilt titles. Mild offsetting to the front endpaper. The dust jacket is a bit toned along the spine and extremities, with two tape reinforcements to the verso; otherwise very good.
