First Edition; with dust jacket. Describes and illustrates with line drawings the swords, pikes, bayonets and bowie knives used by the Confederate Army. This copy bears a fine inscription by the book's artist on half-title, flanked by a very attractive 4" tall watercolor of a bearded Confederate officer, hat in hand, leaning on his sword. Inscribed: "To Clayton Knight who gave unselfishly of his valuable time, advice and most helpful criticism and constant encouragement for which I'll always be grateful. With warm regards Carl Publiese." Clayton Knight (1891-1969) was a well known aviation author and illustrator. The illustrated jacket has some small edge tears, and is not price clipped. 70169
