Boards bumped & rubbed particularly to corners. ACC.* Jacket condition: No dust wrapper. ND* Contents condition: PRIVATE COPY NOT EX-LIBRARY. Light yellow end papers. Both hinges severely shaken but not detached. Small notes to end papers. A few pencil notes to contents. Some spotting to prelims, otherwise clean and bright with some reading wear. All edges grubby. ACC.* Illustrations: Two b/w prints to frontis and title pages.* Pages: 300 pp. text. v pp. index & blank page at rear.* Description: This small book (page size 2 ½ x 4 ½ inches) contains the famous monographs and essays by John Locke and Francis Bacon and also biographical sketches of the two authors. Empiricism & the Theory of Knowledge were the grounding for modern philosophical theory. Interestingly Locke and Bacon were opposed in many of their outlooks, however their works were regularly published together and this conjunction was instrumental in the evolution of a new discipline.* An ACCEPTABLE copy with considerable wear and no dust jacket.*
