About This Item

Berlin-Heidelberg: Springer-Verlag, 1992. Perspective views, such as block diagrams and fence diagrams have always been an important means of scientific visualization in geology. Advanced three-dimensional computer graphics is a new tool for the construction of such views. This comprehensive book contains papers presented at the first large international meeting (Freiburg, October 8-11, 1990) that brought together working groups engaged in development of 3-D visualization programs for geologic purposes, and included people from universities, government agencies, the mining industry (especially oil companies) and from software companies engaged in geology and geographic information systems. Many different aspects of using three-dimensional computer graphics are discussed in the papers. Emphasized are different approaches of modeling and rendering a 3-D geometric model, of transforming process simulation results into perspective views, economic applications, and use of three-dimensional computer graphics as an additional tool for interpretation and prediction. 298 pp. Illustrated. Prior owner's nameplate pastedown on the front endpaper; small stamp to lower title page; clean pocket remnant to the rear endpaper. No spine cracks or creases. Very minor shelfwear.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Professional Library.
