Includes forty-four lectures. Col. Robert Green Ingersoll, (1833-1899), was born in Dresden, New York, the son of a Congregational minister. That explains his vast knowledge of the Bible, which he called upon frequently in an ironic twist, when delivering lectures, as the Great Agnostic, about agnosticism and freethought in religious matters. He was a lawyer and said to be a brilliant orator and debater..
