About This Item
Collins Willow 1994 (1st UK). 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine. The scarce first edition of this classic guide toThe Lakeland Fells over 1000 feet high in altitude. This book is an in-depth guide to the most popular walking area of Britain. Dividing the Lake District National Park into seven topological areas, and using his local knowledge of the region, Bill Birkett has mapped out a series of routes for all levels of walker, each one allowing an appreciation of the beauty and splendour of the region. Each major area is divided up into a series of group walks, accompanied by a list of peaks encountered and practical information such as duration and difficulty of walk, and references to Ordnance Survey maps. Precise descriptions of the walks are enlivened by photographs and topological maps. An appendix contains details of all the peaks, and their altitudes and map references. Fine in a Fine d/w.
