Mrs. Mary Holland's cookery book contains many Georgian recipes, with simple directives and explanations for housekeepers and cooks, dietary hints to stay healthy and keep a healthy family, useful contents for the sick, and how to maintain a kitchen garden. Recipes included are for meat and poultry dishes, soups, puddings, greens and roots, and much more. With hints on carving, pickling, trussing, &c. and a including the art of making British wines. Illustrated with a vignette title page, a frontispiece, and four full page plates. In a half morocco binding over marbled boards. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear. Both the front and rear boards have suffered some cracking affecting the covers. With new endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. The With the occasional faint minor spotting throughout and the odd age toning to the leaves, particularly to the leaves of plates and adjacent.
