Printed for the author by T. Spilsbury and sold by J. Dodsley and T. Payne and Son et al, 1780. 1st edn. Folio (17 x 10¾ ins). Contemporary full calf, gilt ruled raised-ribbed spine with gilt lettered label, board edges gilt tooled (some wear to outer joints but casing still firm; boards lightly discoloured with scratches and abrasions and wear at edges and corners). Pp. [viii] + 200 + unpaginated + 109 (lacks pp. 25-38 and 81-84), thereafter unpaginated, illus with engraved frontispiece, 23 full page plates and vignettes in text (endpapers lightly spotted, and tanned at edges; offsetting from frontis on title; previous owner's armorial bookplate on front paste-down; no inscriptions).
