Edges of boards bumped and shelfworn. Paper label rubbed. Front hinge tender. Some foxing throughout, more so to preliminary leaves, else internally clean. With ownership signature to title page and ownership signature and handstamp of E.J. Garland to front endpapers. With engraved frontis of Walton and full-page plates of Walton's House, Amwell Hill, and the Angler's Song. Woodcuts of fish throughout. very good A nice copy in original boards of Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton's classic, the Complete Angler, which has the distinction of being among the most reprinted book in English. This copy was from the collection of Edward Joseph "Ted" Garland, the Canadian ambassador to Iceland and Norway. Garland was an avid angler and also an influential founding member of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, a precursor to Canada's New Democratic Party. 1835
