About This Item
1676 English Thomas Comber Temple Companion Protestant Church London Anglican
Thomas Comber was a 17th-century English dean, who served in English Protestant churches. Known for many works of anti-Catholicism and Protestant doctrines, Comber's "Companion to the Temple" was his greatest work, intended to reconcile those who disagreed with or departed from the Protestant church. Comber discusses the church offices of marriage, care for the sick, the Apostle's Creed, female roles in the church, and other important church activities and how they varied from that of the Catholic tradition.
