This novel of crime and journalism in Chicago served as the basis of a 1951 Warner Bros. film starring James Cagney and Gig Young, who was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his performance. Presentation copy, inscribed and dated in the year of publication by Ware on the title page. Octavo. Original gray cloth binding, with green, white, and red stamping. Light fading along the extremities of the boards; else very good or better.
