Second edition published 1853 - 1857 complete in 7 volumes with 322 colour bird plates and 105 of eggs, a further 8 plates are uncoloured as issued. Volume 7 has a cracked upper hinge with no impact on binding strength. Contemporary full burgundy morocco gilt, covers with gilt double-ruled border incorporating foliate and ornamental roll, spines faded, light rubbing to extremities, bur overall an excellent set. [Nissen 628]
