The more I wonder, the more I love First edition, first printing, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "To Charles, Peace & Peoplehood, Alice Walker, 7-9-82". The same page has a touching gift inscription by the recipient, "To Meg, for Thanksgiving 1994, by a friend of mine for whom Africa was her real home, Grandpa". Walker's epistolary novel won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award in 1983. It was adapted into a film in 1985, a stage musical in 2005, and a subsequent musical film in 2023. Octavo. Original purple quarter cloth, spine lettered in silver. With dust jacket. Spine ends lightly sunned, faint foxing to top edge; a few tiny marks to unclipped jacket, small nicks and creases to extremities, short closed tear to head of rear panel: a near-fine copy in near-fine jacket.
