Collection of essays written & collected by members of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) of Nebraska, detailing the lives of the brave women & men who settled the area in the late 1800s. in 361 pages with vintage black-and-white photos throughout (all intact), Index in rear. A FIRST EDITION, first printing from 1916 (not a modern reprint!), this hardcover book has royal blue cloth-covered boards with gilt design & lettering to front & spine, deckled page edges. Condition is VG+: extremely bright & clean, text block strong & straight, but rear hinge is cracked. Pages show a whisper of tanning. Old gift inscription dated 1916 on ffep. No DJ, likely as issued. Mild bumping to corners & both ends of spine. A beauty & a lovely gift for that native Nebraskan!
