Photograph. A collection of 7 original, vintage photographs of 1940s or '50s women's fashion. Each print features one to four separate photographs that have been masked and silhouetted and printed next to one another on the same sheet of paper. There are a total of 18 figures in 18 different outfits and may have been shot for a catalog. The photos came from a portfolio of images by Joseph Messina, a Brooklyn professional commercial photographer and educator in the 1940s through 1970s, though there is no indication on the photos that they are by Messina. Double-weight fiber-based silver gelatin prints. Paper size: 16 x 20 inches. Condition: All of the images are fine, the surface clean and white; six of the prints have binder holes punched to the top or side; some of the prints have penciled numbers to the back; one print has a one-inch tear to the edge; all have a slight ripple at the edges. Will be sandwiched securely between stiff layers of cardboard and shipped the next business day after payment is received.
