A first edition copy of this collection of tales by A. E. Coppard. This volume contains thirty-eight works by A. E. Coppard which were written between 1921 and 1938. The tales are a collection of Coppard's best work as a master of the short story. Some of the works that appear in this volume include The Higgler, The Cherry Tree and The Poor Man. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally lovely with light fading to the spine and light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. In the original unclipped dust wrapper which is a little worn with chipping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine and fading to the spine and marks to the rear wrap. Very Good Indeed
