Description:
New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston [1965], 1965. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Oblong 4to. Unpaginated. Grey paper boards with pink lettering on the front board and spine, pig embossed in pink on the front board. Red endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated with full-page and in-text color drawings by Evaline Ness. Quite difficult to find in the first edition. Alexander's tale tells the story of Coll, a former warrior who must leave his farm to bring back his pig Hen Wen, a prophetess whose gifts the Dark Lord of Prydain would love to use to his advantage. A bookplate on the front pastedown and a minute bookseller's stamp on the rear pastedown; jacket is price-clipped with tape reinforcement to its edges. The copy presents quite well.
