Set in the British Black Country, a young coupe are forced to take refuge in a supposedly haunted mansion on the site of an ancient Roman villa after their car gets a puncture. The owner of the mansion, Humphrey Furnival, dismisses any suggestion that its cursed. Written by Francis Brett Young, an English novelist, playwright, poet, composer, soldier, and doctor. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Mudie's Select Library sticker to the top of the front board and the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot, predominantly to the endpapers. Good
