Random House, 1965. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition, First printing. First printing Fine in maroon cloth covered boards with gilt text stamping on the spine and with the author's initials stamped on the front board. An octavo measuring 8 3/8 by 5 5/8 inches with slight fading of the cloth near the head of the spine corresponding to the chip loss from the dust jacket. In a very good, price clipped dust jacket with chips from the upper edge of the spine area and tear at top tip. 343 pages of text. A first edition copy with all of the issue points (e.g., "1/66" on inside flap, stated first printing, no book club marks, back flap recognizing Random House well-known publishing) for the book and its first issue dust jacket. There are no prior owner's names, dates or book plates.
Synopsis
In Cold Blood is a nonfiction book by American author Truman Capote. The book details the brutal 1959 murders of Herbert Clutter, a wealthy farmer from Holcomb, Kansas, and his wife and two of their children. When Capote learned of the quadruple murder before the killers were captured, he decided to travel to Kansas and write about the crime.
