New York: Random House, 1942. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition. Small octavo. Red cloth. Owner name on front fly, slightly sunned spine ends, else near fine in a very good dust jacket with tiny chips and tears, and toned with an interior dampstain at the foot of the spine. The romantic drama that premiered on Broadway in 1941, directed by Lee Strasberg. Also the basis for the 1952 black-and-white film noir/drama of the same name directed by Fritz Lang, starring Barbara Stanwyck, Paul Douglas, Marilyn Monroe and Robert Ryan.
