New York: Random House, [1942]. First Edition. First Printing. Octavo (19.5cm.); publisher's cloth in white and black decorative dust jacket, black topstain; [10],242pp. Dampstain to jacket verso only just bleeding into cloth and exterior of rear panel, some general light shelf wear, spine rather toned, else Near Fine in a Very Good jacket. Romantic drama first produced on Broadway in 1941 starring Lee J. Cobb and Tallulah Bankhead. The play would eventually be adapted into the 1952 film directed by Fritz Lang and starring Barbara Stanwyck, Paul Douglas, and Marilyn Monroe.
