About This Item

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1955-09-12. Hardcover. Very Good. 0x0x0. Paula Hutchison. Vintage Landmark Hardback Cloth Cover Book. Book itself is in Very Good Plus condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. It looks like a name was written in pencil on the first end page and a number on the next page which has been erased. Inside text itself is in Very Good to Very Good Plus condition and appears to have had little use. There are two small tears at the bottom of page 147, but this appears to have been a printing error. Outside cloth covers are very nice with only very minor corner wear. No Dust Jacket. This is NOT an ex-library book, but has come from a private collection. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting. Clara Barton Landmark #58. In this book, the author tells the amazing story of the shy young school-teacher whose wartime nursing service grew into a peacetime service that resulted in a worldwide organization to help all who suffer. Great story by a great author
