Synopsis
E.L. Doctorow is the author of nine books, including Welcome to the Hard Times, The Book of Daniel, Ragtime, Loon Lake, Lives of the Poet, World's Fair, Billy Bathgate, and The Waterworks . He has been awarded the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award (twice), the PEN/Faulkner Prize, the William Dean Howells medal of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and is the recipient of numerous honorary degrees. He currently lives in New York and teached at New York University.
