About This Item
Dessau, Germany: Directorium gez. Oechelhauser, 1880. Paperback. Good +. [22] p., 1 leaves of folded plates; 34 cm. Contemporary dark blue card wrapper. Text is in German script reproduced via an early means of reproduction. The leaves of plates are titled: Dessauer Generatorofen, and M. Gladbacher Generatorofen. Final page of text ends: "Dessau, den 23. März 1880. Das Directorium gez. Oechelhauser." This was probably not Wilhelm Oechelhauser (1820-1902), the Shakespeare scholar, but his son by the same name. An early report on the Oechelhauser generator furnace. Very scarce. In Good+ Condition: wrapper is separated, with chipping along edges and fairly illegible writing in black ink; first page lightly soiled, with some notations in margins; minor loss at lower corner of first two leaves; minor chipping at fore-edge of one plate; otherwise, clean and solid.
