In this post-apocalyptic world the inhabitants are now fundamentalist Christians, following God's word to prevent another Tribulation.This is generally regarded to be the best of John Wyndham's novels. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with fading to text of back strip. Dust wrapper rear wrap lightly age toned with spotting. Shelf wear to back strip head and tail, with small loss to head of rear joint. Closed tears to head and tail of front wrap. Clear adhesive tape repairs to dust wrapper reverse, at front flyleaf fold, back strip head and tail, and head of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, but with instances of light spotting throughout. Very Good Indeed
Synopsis
The Chrysalids is a science fiction novel by John Wyndham, first published in 1955 by Michael Joseph. It is the least typical of Wyndham's major novels, but is regarded by some people as his best. The novel was adapted for BBC radio by Barbara Clegg in 1982 and for the theater by playwright David Harrower in 1999.
