New York: Harper & Row, 1983. Cloth-Backed Boards. Good/Very Good. 8vo. xvi, 262 pp. With fifteen plates drawn by the author in Chinese style. First printing thus; a reissue of the first Judge Dee mystery, originally published in 1958. Spine cocked, page edges very lightly tanned and dusty, several page corners turned. Jacket slightly faded at spine, bumped at edges, with a few tiny chips at edges and one short tear at rear lower edge.
