The author, a US academic specialising in modern China, traces the country's history from the Communist revolution to just after the events on 4th June 1989 at Tiananmen Square, which he witnessed. Having first visited China before the Cultural Revolution, he is well placed to give a well informed and comprehensive account of the period. 366 pages with an index. Weight 0.9kg. Post free within Malaysia The dust jacket has minimal wear other than a few dirt marks. The binding is tight, the text is clear and there is minimal tanning throughout. Not a bad copy.
