American Geographical Society, 1926 with B&W maps and photo illustrations throughout. Walter Mallory was the Secretary,of the China international Relief Commission who points out that between 108 B.C. and 1911 A.D. there were 1828 famines with major death tolls in every province. He suggests courses of action, many of which were taken up independently by Mao Tse-Tung. Text is tight and unmarked. Endpapers have reminants of library cards and stickers. Grey paper boards are much worn at edges.. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
