About This Item

New York, NY, U.S.A.: Random House, 1941. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. Masha. Enchanting collection of Christian prayers designed for young children, complemented by the lovely pastel illustrations of artist Masha, a "mystery" illustrator of children's books in the 1940s who wanted to remain anonymous. In 36 pages, illustrated on every one. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1941, this oversized hardcover has a tan cloth-wrapped spine with decorative paper paste-downs in gilt over the front & rear boards. Condition is Fair: completely clean & unmarked save for former owner's names in neat pen to half title page. Downgraded due to evidence of having been wet at bottom edges, with mild page rippling & light staining to this area on every page as a result. Good: very clean inside, sewn binding secure (though front & rear hinges have been reglued). Pages creamy off-white with mild tanning, illustrations are lovely & unblemished (except for the waviness at bottom), perfect for framing or religious crafts projects if you want to separate them. Our photos show the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2pm weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends, & holidays ship very next business day. Sorry: book is too large for any expedited domestic or international shipping due to high postage costs.
