"The Children of Húrin," per the jacket flap, are tales of Middle-earth from times long before "The Lord of the Rings." This Tolkien project wasn't published until after J. R. R. Tolkien's death in 1973, after being edited and organized by his son, Christopher Tolkien who explains that J. R. R. T. worked on these stories as far back as the First World War. With color illustrations by Alan Lee, and a fold-out map similar to a map prepared by J. R. R. T. --- In full black paper-covered boards with gilt-stamped spine titling. Jacket bears Lee illustrations to front and back panels. --- An about-Fine copy: bright, unmarked and crisp. Unclipped jacket ($26) with also bright and newish but with a couple of tiny green marks to front panel and in removable archival mylar protector. ; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; 313, (6) pages .
