Excellent street work in the humanist tradition. Kezys was born in Lithuania in 1928, fled to the West prior to the Soviet occupation and then moved to the USA in 1950 to eventually be ordained as a Jesuit Priest. He took up photography, and, in 1965 had his first exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago. He has since exhibited widely, been collected by a number of museums and had 21 books of his work published. Now a former Jesuit, Kezys operates a small gallery in Stickney, Illinois, that represents Lithuanian artists worldwide and publishes books on art, religion, and photography.
