About This Item
David McNeely Stauffer (1845-1913) was an American civil engineer, editor, artist, and collector. He worked for several railroads including the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad until 1876 when he went into private practice. He wrote scholarly articles and edited the Engineering News. In addition to collecting autographs and illustrations, he designed book plates and did pen and ink drawings.
