Lovely copy of Barbara Cooney's adaptation of a Chaucerian tale. Nice, clean dustjacket with just a bit of edge wear, chipping and rubbing. Though neatly clipped at top, original price of 12 /6 net appears at bottom of DJ flap. Dust jacket preserved in Brodart wraps. Text is unmarked. Binding tight.

Synopsis

In the children's book Chanticleer and the Fox, Barbara Cooney adapted the story of The Nun's Priest's Tale from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and illustrated it. Released by Crowell in 1958, it was the recipient of the Caldecott Medal for illustration in 1959.
