George H. Doran, New York., N.D. [1923]. First edition. First issue with sheets printed in England intended for an edition which was suppressed. The book did not appear in the U.K. until 1974. Green cloth printed in orange - later Doran had sheets printed in the U.S.A. and bound into red cloth. This is the fictional account of the relationship between Vita Sackville-West and Violet Trefusis, in which the male character, Julian, represents Vita.Cover slightly marked. Spine a bit dull. Very good. No dustwrapper. Scarce.
