London: Walter Scott, Ltd., 1895. An interesting collection by the prominent Irish author George Moore (1852-1933), who is often cited as an influence on Joyce and other modernists. This book followed the great success of "Esther Waters" and contains three stories: "Mildred Lawson," "John Norton," and "Agnes Lahens." This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition.. Brown cloth binding; titling in black. Clean text; 559 pages, with eight pages of adverts in the rear. Penciled previous-owner signature (1898) on the FFEP; small bookseller's label on the rear paste-down. The top is a bit dusty; rubbed at the margins, spine darkened. A servicable copy.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Minus)/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
