Yellow/Grey Cloth, with printed bright Red blocking and Bright Gold Titling to the spine, with cream laid endpapers, in three colour, typographic jacket. A little light creasing to the top/rear of the dustjacket, but NO Inscriptions or marks. (xi) + 220 pp. Black and White Frontispiece (a page of the First English Printed book) and illustrated throughout in b/w. With bibliography and index. An Excellent Near 'AS New' copy, Looks Unread/untouched. This is a general biography of Caxton but it also describes fully the technical aspects of the production of his books, paper, watermarks, woodcuts, corrections, reprints, textual presentation, etc, etc, and of Caxton in all his aspects as Printer, Publisher, Bookseller etc. Finally the author discusses the way in which "Caxton's business was continued by his assistant, Wynkyn de Worde, and the way in which the latter's publishing policy differed from that of his master." ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall .
