About This Item

New-York: Published by John S. Taylor, Brick Church Chapel, 1837. First edition.

Spine just a trifle sunned; some light rubbing; some light foxing throughout; a very good copy.

8vo (7.75 x 4.88 inches), original blind-stamped ribbon-embossed blue cloth, gilt lettering, 348, 8 pages.

"Is not the age of Infidelity approaching, along with the time of terrible judgments?"

A detailed argument against various "scoffers," along with an account of Nelson's own conversion, published shortly after he had arrived in Quincy as an agent for the American Antislavery Society to set up his "Abolitionist Factory" at the Mission Institute outside of Quincy (and just across the Mississippi from slave-holding Missouri).

American Imprints 45758.
