Interesting travel album chronicling the automobile and train trip of the Racine, Wisconsin Commandery Number 7 of the Knights Templar to the organization's 30th Triennial Conclave at Saratoga Springs, NY. Via Ft. Wayne, Pittsburgh, Altoona, Harrisburg, Baltimore, Washington, Mt. Vernon, Alexandria, Arlington, Jersey City, Hoboken, Kaiser Wilhelm II, New York City, Bronx Park, Brooklyn, Coney Island, Hudson River Steamer, Albany, Troy, Boston, Nantasket Beach, Pemberton, Pittsfield, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Queeenston, (Ont.) and Detroit. 'SUCH A TIME WE NEVER HAD.'" Views capture a rail journey through Johnstown, PA and the Allegheny Mountains. The party also travels to Washington D.C., New York City and State, as well as Niagara Falls. Skillfully-executed images with detailed, hand written and dated (often humorous) captions throughout. Hardcover. Small oblong 8vo. album with leather covered boards. 25 black paper leaves, hand-lettered title page, 37 black and white photographs gluemounted recto and verso, and 5 final leaves blank. Generally near fine.
