About This Item

New York: Universe, 1998. First edition. Hardback. Near Fine/Very Good. 11" by 9". None Stated. An autobiographical account by Catherine Walker covering her life, her fashion designs as well as her professional and personal relationship with Princess Diana. The first edition of this work. Held in original dustwrapper. Catherine Walker, as noted to the foreword, was responsible for the 'look' of Princess Diana. She designed numerous gowns for the royal and they had a fifteen year professional relationship. This work discusses Catherine Walker's career and her 'rags to riches tale that transcends fashion'. In the preface, Walker notes that Diana, Princess of Wales, had offered to write the foreword to this biography. However, the princess' untimely death meant that she never got to see the completed work, or pen the foreword. Illustrated throughout, with numerous photographs of Walker's creations. In the original hardcover binding. Held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear. Bumping to the extremities. Dustwrapper is slightly chipped to the extremities and slightly bumped to the head and tail of spine. Previous bookseller's label to the rear wrap, with a barcode and the title. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
