Dust jacket in Mylar jacket protector. Extensive bibliography, notes and index at back. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 443 pages; This is a very thorough history of how groups of German Mennonites decided to relocate to a number of colonies in Russia, how they were treated there and how many of them decided in later years to find new homes around the world. Many of them from the late 1800s to the mid 1900s, settled in the the US and Canadian Prairies as well as the West Coast and to South America. The German Mennonites who decided to stay in Russia were not treated well. They were relocated from the choice farming areas of the south to Siberia. .
