Both book and dust jacket as new except for a coffee stain on the top of the back cover which dribbled inside the dust jacket and stained both inside and outside of cover. Lovely black silk faille with debossed title and paste-down illustration on front cover. Guidebook to the Benedictine Monastery of San Nicolò l'Arena in Catania written by Francesco-di-Paola Bertucci in 1846. The monastery is a jewel of the late Sicilian Baroque, founded by a Cassinese (Benedictine) congregation in 1558. 120 annotated pages + 15 full page illustrations with description on facing pages. Text in Italian.
