About This Item

Paris: Galerie Jean Charpentier, 1933. Hardcover. VG (Ex-art library with perf stamp on an opening page and a few stray marks; has average aging to pages overall; rebound and nice.). Blue library buckram, gilt letters on spine, 30 pp. plus 28 leaves with 28 bw plates, some with multiple images. Text is in French. Issued in conjunction with a 1933 sale of paintings and sculptures once owned by the former Mrs. Edwin S. Bayer, nee Laura Kayser Bayer, who married French diplomat Count Antoine de Sala in 1931. 63 lots were sold, and most, if not all, are pictured here. A second sale of the Comtesse's artwork came after her death in 1961. Uncommon in hardcover format.
